Iva Jean Childers Messer age 78 of Dayton, OH, formerly of Cawood, KY was born May 19, 1933 and passed away on April 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Don Messer; her parents, Luther and Louise Hall Childers; five sisters, Mary Turner, Deliah Stewart, Polly Childers, Mildred Stewart, and Betty Rose Childers; one brother, George Washington Childers; and one grandson, Nicholas Reeder.

She is survived by her two children, Rodney Messer and wife Melinda Matosky of Miami TWP and Audrey Dillion of Tipp City; two grandsons, Gregory Reeder and Brad Matosky; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
