Joann Hill, 73, of Grovertown, Ind., formerly of Middlebury, Ind., passed away Tuesday. She was born August 20, 1939, at Crummies, Ky., to Chester and Betty (Wiggington) Wright and graduated from Evarts High School. Joann worked for many years at Aylesworth School in Portage and Northview High School in Middlebury. She will be fondly remembered for her love of reading, landscaping and quilting.

In 1957 she married Ancil Eugene “K.Y.” Jackson who preceded her in death in 1989. Survivors include her children: Judy Littrell of Portage; Ancil E. “Eddie” (Catherine L.) Jackson of Valparaiso; a sister, Olivia Blevins of Kentucky; grandchildren Brittany Elizabeth Childers,

Ancil M. “Matt” Jackson, Nattalie L. Jackson and Morgan M. Jackson; and her significant partner, Robert E. Baker of Grovertown. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Leigh Jackson, in 1969.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Ind., with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Portage. Visitation Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the VNA of Porter County.
