Katherine Haley Burkhart Sprinkle, age 62 of Harlan, KY passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born August 11, 1949 in Harlan, KY. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Katherine is preceded in death by her mother, Louise Mason Haley; and her sister, Debra Bowman Bailey.

Survivors include her father, Charles Haley and his wife Frances of Lower Elcomb; her 3 children, Ricky Burkhart and wife Sheila of Stanfill, Deena Charles and husband Tony of Caball Estates, and Shanni Kazy and husband Billy of Rosspoint; her brother, Robert Haley and wife Thelma of Catrons Creek; 6 grandchildren, Tyler Burkhart, Dawson Charles, Masie Charles, Payeton Charles, MeKenna Kazy, and Braylee Kazy; and her special friend, Doris West of Tway. Several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Josh Hensley officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Resthaven Cemetery in Keith, KY. Pallbearers include Ricky Burkhart, Robert Haley, Dawson Charles, Tony Charles, Wendell Lewis and David Overbay.

Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 5p.m. until the funeral hour at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
