Sandra D. Pollitte Columbia Moss, 75, an art teacher and resident of Washington in Mason County, Kentucky, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Sandra was born in Harlan on July 12, 1936, the daughter and only child of the late James J. and Jennie Jo Hughes Pollitte. She was the granddaughter of the late E.D. and Mabel Anno Pollitte and the late Ben and Gladys Rodman Hughes, of Harlan.

Mrs. Moss graduated from Henry Clay High School and attended University of Kentucky. She was an art teacher at St. Patrick’s School. For many years she worked as a draftsman for local civil engineering firms. She also did independent art work, including pen-and-ink drawings of many of local schools, and local designs and logos, including that used by the City of Maysville.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 4 at the Church of the Nativity in Maysville with Rev. Michael Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Olivet Church Cemetery. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 3 and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Agnes’ House, 635 Maxwelton Court, Lexington, Ky. 40508.
