After being held to just two hits in a loss at Jenkins on Wednesday, the Harlan County Lady Bears pounded out 13 hits on Thurdsay as they rolled to a 13-4 victory at Knox Central.

Amber Creech and Savannah Sergent each had three singles to lead the Lady Bears at the plate. Megan Ramsey contributed a pair of singles, and Katie Johnson, Kaitlyn Stittums, Bridget Robinson, Bethany Bellofatto and Chyanna Harris each added a single.

Johnson recorded 10 strikeouts, while surrendering just five hits in the complete-game victory on the mound.

The Lady Bears took control early with five runs in the second inning, as Sergent, Ramsey, Bellofatto, Creech and Johnson each crossed home plate. Harlan County led 7-1 after Creech and Johnson scored in the fifth inning.

After a pair of runs from Knox in the bottom of the fifth, Jessie Johnson, Harris and Creech each scored in the sixth to push the advantage to 10-3. The Lady Bears led by 10 after three runs in the seventh, but Knox tacked on one run in the bottom of the inning.

Harlan County (14-12) will host Whitley County on Monday. Knox Central (6-8) hosts Pineville today.
