Leadership Bell County will host a 5K run/walk as well as a cornhole tournament to support UNITE, a program implemented by Congressman Hal Rogers to fight drug abuse in Southeastern Kentucky. Previous Leadership Bell County projects have raised as much as $10,000 for local charities. This is a great opportunity to have fun while improving our area.

These contests will take place on May 19 at Southeast Community College, Middlesboro campus. There is a $20 entry fee for the run/walk. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a $100 prize will be awarded to the fastest male and female runner. There is a $25 registration fee for each team in the cornhole tournament. The winning team will receive a set of cornhole boards.

Leadership Bell County is seeking more sponsors for this event. Sponsors will be featured on T-shirts, cornhole boards, and in multiple media outlets. Money raised will benefit ALL counties in UNITE’s coverage area, including: Bath, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Johnson, Knott, Knox, Laurel, Lawrence, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, McCreary, Menifee, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Rowan, Wayne, Whitley and Wolfe.
