Special to the Enterprise
10 Musette seniors and their families were honored at a dinner held at Harlan Baptist Church. “A Night in the Big Apple” was the theme.
Lisa Nelson was the Senior Night chairman. Belinda Cassim had senior, Gabrielle Rehnborg, paint large pictures depicting famous landmarks in New York City, for decorations. Each senior received several souvenirs, including an “I love New York” mug and a framed collage made by Vicki Blakley.
The program included “Remember Whens?,” skit and a DVD presentation of the seniors. Each senior was presented a yellow silk rose, engraved silver necklace and a graduation card signed by the choir from their Musette little sister. Marilyn Schraeder was assisted by next year’s President Lauren Hogue, and Vice-president Samantha Henson. She gave each senior a framed picture of themselves and each girl signed the mat for their parents.
Miss Schraeder presented Shawn Doss, out-going president and Paula Skidmore, out-going Treasurer, a framed picture of the girls at the Statue of Liberty. Seniors moms that were in the Musettes are Shawn Doss and Robin Magnani.
The seniors sang “Whenever You Remember” followed by the underclassmen singing “You Raise Me Up,” accompanied by Clara Atkins-Pope. The evening came to a close when the girls formed their traditional candlelit circle singing “Candle On the Water.”
2012 Seniors are: Katie Brown, Katharine Cohelia, Morgan Doss, Katlyn Estep, Taylor Lankford, Lexie Magnani, Emily Nantz (who was unable to attend due to the state track meet in Louisville), Gabrielle Rehnborg, Lindsey Richards and Kaitlyn Skidmore.
