Shirley Faye Cornett, 65, of Cumberland passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY following a brief illness. She was a native of Cumberland, a homemaker, and believed in the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband the late Edward Cornett; her parents the late Bessie Marie Creech, and the late Charles Duncun.

She is survived by her children Mary Morgan and husband Dewayne, of Cumberland, Carolyn Sue Shepherd and husband Marvin, of Cumberland and Sharon Owens, of Pineville; one brother James Duncun, of Carmi, IL; and a sister Ruth Dixon, of Cumberland; seven grandchildren, Chris Morgan, Thomas Cornett, Cody Cornett, Donald Bullock, Charles Cress, Catherine Deal, Amanda Shepherd and fiancé Josh Hudson; great grandchild Camuria Hudson, and Brianna Deal.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 4, 2012 from 10 am until 2 pm in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with the Rev. Darrell Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Cemetery in Cumberland. Dewayne Morgan, Wayne Bullock, Marlin Shepherd, Thomas Cornett, Cody Cornett, and Charles Cross will serve as pallbearers.
