Fans of the FX series Justified can now visit the Harlan Center and see memorabilia and props from the second season. Harlan Center Director Brandon Pennington said since the series premiered, they have seen an increase in people from all over the United States stopping by just to ask about the show and now they may see authentic items and props on display.

“The items were sent to us by Dave Blass, one of the producers on the show,” said Pennington. “We have a signed Justified poster by Timothy Olyphant, who portrays Raylan Givens. We have Raylan’s coffee mug, a photograph of his ex-wife, Winona Hawkins. We also have a copy of Boyd Crowder’s driver’s license and U.S. Marshall tags for Art Mullen, Tim Gutterson, Rachael Brooks and Raylan Givens.

“We have Raylan’s U.S. Marshall’s service certificate and Art Mullen’s recognition award and a Kentucky license plate that says Justified on it.”

Pennington said some real interesting items on display are clothes actually worn by Coover Bennett when he was shot.

“You can see the blood spatters and holes in the clothing,” said Pennington. “We have the bag he was carrying at the time he was shot with a big hole in it also. We have a jersey shirt Coover wore that we plan to hang separately.”

Included in the props are some maps for the fictional coal mine, Black Pot Mining Corporation. There is also a photograph of Mags Bennett.

“A rare item in our collection is a furby stuffed animal that was blown up on one show, and we even have the ears that were blown off during the explosion,” said Pennington.

The display is set in a 6 feet by 4 feet glass case in the reception area of the center.

“We had visitors just this past Friday from Wheaton, Ill., who wanted to see the Justified Display because it is their favorite show,” said Pennington. “They had a teenage girl with them and she was able to try on a jacket from the show and she went nuts.We love to see this reaction.

“We’re very excited to have this display and I think it’s a very nice asset to add to the Harlan Center. It will bring in more foot traffic. It’s not unusual to have visitors from all across the United States stopping by just to ask about Justified. This is something we can now showcase for those fans of the series.”

Justified, season three, may be seen on the FX Network every Tuesday at 10 p.m. The display is open to the public and may be seen Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information you may call 573-4495.
