Hyman was born November 21, 1951 to the late Arnold Pace and Joanie Farmer. He was a retired coal miner. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and proudly served with the Harlan County Honor Guard. He believed in the Baptist faith and was a faithful member of the Chevrolet Baptist Church.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hyman and Sudie Farmer; brothers, Tip Farmer and Scott Pace.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue Farmer of Grays Knob; his children, Jeffrey (Jessica) Farmer of Grays Knob, James (Felicia) Farmer of Catrons Creek and Jason Farmer of Grays Knob; his step mother, Edna Pace of Harlan; 4 grandchildren, James Farmer, II, Hyman Isaiah Farmer, Alexandria Jade Farmer, and Sean Farmer; brothers, David Pace of Grays Knob, Delbert Pace of Wallins, Roy Edward King of Coxton; sisters, Donna Lambert of New Tazewell, TN and Sudie Rodriguez of Grays Knob; he also leaves several nieces, nephews other relatives and his very special church family at Chevrolet Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 5 until 8:00 pm Sunday June 17, 2012 at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Monday June 18, 2012 at the Chevrolet Baptist Church with Pastor Eddie Huckleby officiating.
Burial will follow in the Farmer Family Cemetery at Grays Knob with Military rites being observed by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
