James Robert “J.R.” Gross, age 27 of Middlesboro, KY (formerly of Wallins) passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Middlesboro ARH. He was born November 10, 1984 in Harlan, KY. He was a self-employed construction worker.

James is preceded in death by his father, Bill Harrison Gross; his grandparents, Rev. Leroy Gross, Eli and Mahaley Caldwell; his brother, Billy Gross; and his uncle, Berton Caldwell, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Lee (Grubbs) Gross of Middlesboro; his parents, Faye Caldwell Vaughn (Richard) of Middlesboro; grandmother, Sue Gross of Molus; brother-in-law, Leonard Wayne Grubbs (Crystal) of London; aunts and uncles, Berton Caldwell of Keith, Harold Caldwell (Debbie) of Wallins, Jessie Muncy (David) of Wallins, Fredia Thomas (Robert) of Wallins; special sisters, Tammy Roark (Kenneth) of Wallins, Connie Brock (Fred) of Wallins, Robin Blevins (Jermey) of Wallins; aunts, Cindy, Elizabeth, Caathy, and Willa; special nephew and niece, Isaiah and Carrie Mahaley. Many other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation was Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 12 o’clock noon in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Freeman Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Daniels Cemetery in Wallins, KY with family and friends serving as pall bearers.
