Tri-Cities stars knock off Harlan

The Tri Cities All-Stars advanced to the Area 4 (9-10) championship game with a 6-2 victory over Harlan in the tournament opener at Hazard on Saturday.

Tri-Cities took the lead with one run in both the first and second inning. After a pair of scoreless innings, TrI-Cities took control with four runs in the fifth inning.

Quinton Boggs, Justin Brown and Elijah Estep had one single for Tri-Cities.

Boggs claimed the win on the mound.

Caleb Adkins and Lane Jones each had two singles for Harlan. Ethan Cornett added one single.

Jay Harris suffered the loss for the Harlan All-Stars.

Tri-Cities meets Hazard today at 7 p.m. for the Area 4 title. The loser will face Harlan for second place on Monday.
