Cameron Nease delivered on the mound and at the plate to lift the Tri-City (11-12) All-Stars to an 11-1 victory over Hazard in the championship of the Area 4 Tournament on Sunday.
Nease struck out five batters and gave up just three hits in five innings in a complete-game victory on the mound.
Nease also led the Tri-City offense with a double and two singles for four RBI. Coker added a double and single. Tyrese Simmons had a homer. Israel Terry and Justin McQueen contributed one single each.
Creech and Terry walked to open the game and Nease gave Tri-City the lead with his double to the fence in center.
Simmons jumped on the first pitch he saw in the second inning and sent it over the fence in center for a 3-0 lead.
Hazard scored its only run in the second inning.
Nease singled to lead off the third and scored on Coker’s double. Coker came home on a hit by McQueen for a 5-1 lead.
Tri-City ended the game with a six-run fifth inning.
Tri-City will advance to the District 4 Tournament at Corbin.
