Joseph Dean Napier, 52 of Harlan passed away Friday July 6, 2012 surrounded by his family at the Harlan ARH, following a battle with cancer.

Joe was born March 17, 1960 in New Brighton, PA. He was raised in Harlan and was an Auto Body Repairman and Painter for his father at Harold’s Body Shop for many years.

He is preceded in death by father, Harold Napier, Grandfather, Lloyd Napier; uncles, Earl Napier, Wilmer “Rocky” Napier; great grandparents, Benjamin Napier and Melissa Curry; 2 cousins, Lloyd Napier and Renee Griffin; 2 grandchildren, Cyrous Hollister and Madelin L. Streicher.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Napier; mother Patricia Napier; grandmother, Pauline Parker; 2 daughters, Melissa (Matt) Streicher of Morehead City, NC, Joy Napier of Morehead City, NC; 1 son, Alexander Patrick Peara; 1 step daughter, Siara Belcher and 1 step son, Adam Goodie; 5 sisters, Kimberly (Bob) Richards of Harlan, Dawn (Rick) Wichman of Sunshine, Michelle (Eric) Weaver of Gray Mountain, AZ, Shawna (Glenn) Blevins of Loyall, and Misty (Charlie) Rhymer of Cranks Creek; 1 brother, Michael (Paula) Napier of Phoenix, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Weston Hollister, Davin Napier, Chance Napier, Winter Dubbs; his aunts & uncles, Helen Chasteen, Harvey, J.D. and Jason Napier; a very special nephew, Colton Wichman; he leaves several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation was held Sunday July 8, 2012 from 5 until 8:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services was 11:00 am Monday July 9, 2012 in the chapel of Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Jordan officiating.

Burial will followed in the Napier Cemetery at Bledsoe.

Pallbearers will be Eric Weaver, Glenn Blevins, Rick Wichman, Shane Worthington, Michael Napier, Colton Wichman,

Charlie Rhymer, Kennon Napier, Bob Richards.
