Tri-City falls in District opener

The North Laurel All-Stars downed Tri-City 14-3 in the opening round of the District 4 Tournament (ages 11-12) on Monday at Corbin.

Cameron Nease, Israel Terry and Chase Coker had the only hits for Tri-City. Nease, Coker and Andrew Creech shared mound duty.

Casey Bargo pitched 3 1/3 innings to claim the win for North Laurel. Cade Harbin recorded the final two outs as Tri-City broke up the shutout with three runs in the fourth inning.

Knox County defeated Pulaski County 9-3 in the other first-round game Monday.

Tri-City will return to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the loser bracket. Knox County will play North Laurel in the winner bracket finals on Thursday at 6 p.m.
