Master basket maker Frances Whitaker (left), of Letcher County, assisted Rodney Mott, 70 of Harlan, in a beginner’s basket weaving class at the Harlan Extension Depot on Thursday. Mott said his wife, Cindy, weaves baskets and he thought this would be a good idea to learn so they can share the hobby. For more information on future workshops at the Depot, you may call 573-4464.
