Peggy Ann Owens, age 74 of Loyall, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Hazard ARH after a long illness. She was born May 23, 1938 to the late William and Lilly (Yeary) Montgomery in Ewing,VA. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was employed by the Harlan County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker at Loyall Jr. High for over 20 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Loyall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant child, Christy Owens; 4 brothers, Eugene, Arvel, Marshall, and Howard Montgomery; and 3 sisters, Sharon Pond, Hazel Gaddis, and Mary Stanley.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Ray Owens of Loyall, KY; her children, Kimberly Owens of Knoxville, TN; and Bobby Ray Owens II and wife Tammy of Loyall, KY; 4 brothers, Floyd Montgomery, Kenneth Montgomery, Johnny (Tip) Montgomery, and Henry Montgomery; one sister, Frances Hauk; grandchildren, Lacey Napier, Davin Wilder, Daisha Wilder, and Bobby Ray Owens III; step-grandchildren, Aaron and Corey Jones. Many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
