Lady Bears fall to Lee, Va.

The Harlan County Lady Bears fell 12-25, 8-25, 18-25 in a three set contest at Lee, Va. on Wednesday.

Chyanna Harris paced Harlan County with three points in the opening set. Keisha Mimes contributed two points. Rebecca Eldridge and Breanna Dunson each recorded one point, and Whitney Stevens added a dig.

Eldridge’s two points led the Lady Bears in the second set. Cara Middleton tallied one point and one spike. Stevens contributed one point and one kill, while Mimes and Harris each had one point.

Harris had four points and one spike to power Harlan County in the final set. Dunson recorded two points, two blocks and one tip. Stevens contributed two points and a kill. Middleton and Eldridge each had two points, and Mimes added one point and one kill.

The Lady Bears fell 17-25, 10-25 in the junior varsity contest.

Lauren Lee paced Harlan County with three points, three tips and one block in the first set. Charleigh Mefford contributed four points. Katelyn Reynolds had two points, one spike and a dig. Candice Huff had a pair of aces, and Brittany Clem had one point and a tip.

Reynolds led Harlan County with three points, one ace and a spike in the final set. Lee added two points and two tips, and Mefford contributed a point.
Harlan County (6-5) returns to action Monday at home against Middlesboro in a 52nd District contest.
