Thelma Frances Fox Boggs, died September 6, 2012, at the age of 90. Thelma lived a full and joyful life. Born January 26, 1922 to Homer and Ada Mae Fox in Newcomb, TN.

Thelma spent most of her adult life living and working at the A & P Store in Harlan, KY and Mt. Clemens, MI until she and her husband (Carlos Boggs) who preceded her in death, retired and returned to Irvine, Kentucky where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church and an avid Kentucky basketball fan.

Thelma is survived by her son, Carlos, his wife Betty and grandson, Jared; daughter, Patricia and grandson, Nicholas; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Thelma’s niece, Mary Kathryn, for the loving companionship and care she provided to Thelma this past year.

A graveside memorial service will be held at West Irvine Cemetery in Irvine on October 13th, 2012 at 11:00am.

Some of my very first memories in life are around Thelma, Opel and mom [Violet Bryant] at the A&P in Harlan. Those memories are some of the best in life.

I last saw Thelma a few years ago in Irvine at a restaurant. We talked and laughed and told stories of the past. You will be so missed.
