Rev. Marion “Bonnie” Stephens age 85 of Coldiron, KY went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Hazard ARH. He was born December 19, 1926 to the late Levi Stephens and Tilda (Mathis) Stephens. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. Bonnie was a retired coal miner and believed in the Holiness faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Elizabeth (Saylor)Stephens; one child, Tilda Jane Stephens; two sisters, Onida Miller and Ruth Henderson; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Stephens.

Survivors include his children, Thomas Stephens and wife Leisha of Wallins, KY, Peggy Causey and husband Harold of Wallins, KY, Melvin Stephens and wife Dolly of SC, Michael Stephens of Coldiron, KY, Vincent Stephens and wife Debra of SC, LuWonna Burkhart and husband Levi of Coldiron, KY, Freddie Stephens of SC, and Teddy Stephens and wife Beverly of Coalgood, KY; one brother, Levi Stephens,Jr. and wife Barbara of Pine Knot, KY; four sisters, Shelby Collett and husband Rufus of Coldiron, KY, Rosetta Gregory of OH, Geneva Morris of Danville, KY and Betty Sue Patton of AL; 24 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren and 10 great, great grandchildren. Many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Re v. Jack Carmical, Rev. Doug Daniel and Rev. Steve Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Laymon Cemetery in Coldiron, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military rites will be observed by the Harlan County Honor Guard.
