Tony Brown shovels snow from the sidewalk in front of Lynch City Hall on Tuesday. According to Lynch Maintenance Supervisor Chris Adams, the city was prepared for the storm that dropped several inches of snow on the ground in parts of the city. “I’ve seen as much as eight to 10 inches (of snow) drifted up in places,” said Adams. Workers, like Brown, have been busy clearing the roads and do not anticipate any serious problems from the early snowfall.

Residents of Lynch found several inches of snow on the ground on Monday. Lynch Police Chief Mike Nunley said people should only travel when necessary, since not only are the roads slick, the snow is wet and heavy and can cause tree limbs to break and fall into the roadway creating a hazard for travelers.
