Cawood holds off JACES

Austin Adams and Paul Stapleton each scored 15 points as Cawood knocked off James A. Cawood 49-34 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Tuesday.

Steven Leath scored 23 to lead the Trojans.

Zach Hensley and Trey Hensley each scored eight as James A. Cawood won 23-8 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Lamar Burkhart’s 17 points led Evarts to a 55-36 victory over Green Hills in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Tuesday.

Daniel Colandria led the Falcons with 10 points.

Josh Burkhart scored 17 as Evarts won 40-16 in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.

Mason Colandria scored seven to lead Green Hills.

Drew Nolan scored 12 points and Jared Sizemore added 10 as Rosspoint defeated Black Mountain 54-23 in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action Tuesday.

Jake Bush paced Black Mountain with 10 points.

Alex Pace had 19 points to lead Black Mountain (7-0) to a 49-20 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade contest.

Hunter Helton led the Wildcats with six points.

In previously unreported action, Pace and Drake Ward each recorded 14 points to lift Black Mountain to a 44-15 win over James A. Cawood.
