One lucky visitor who visits the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife’s (KDFW) Facebook site will win $650 in gift cards by entering their Shoot, Throw and Go sweepstakes by midnight today. The contest is being held in conjunction with Dick’s Sporting Goods to provide an opportunity for people interested in the outdoors to win cash to help facilitate their outdoor activities.
“This sweepstakes is a way for us to engage and connect with our customer base through Facebook,” said KDFW Public Affairs Assistant Director Brian Clark. “The $650 prize is open to everyone and the sweepstakes is easy to enter.”
Hoping to also help families during these tough economic times, Clark said the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with Dick’s Sporting Goods, think this would make a nice gift for anyone for the upcoming holiday season.”
“This gift may also help other family members or friends be able to enjoy the outdoors,” said Clark. “For those entering the contest in eastern Kentucky, there is a Dick’s Sporting Goods on Pavilion Way and Nicholasville Road in Lexington and also in the Johnson City Mall in Johnson City, Tenn. and the Kingsport Pavilion in Kingsport, Tenn., where they can redeem their gift card.”
To enter the contest, you may visit the department’s Facebook site at www.facebook.com/kdfwr and click on the sweepstakes page. You will fill out a quick survey and you could be eligible to win $650 in gift cards from Dick’s Sporting Goods. The deadline to enter is today.
“We named this contest ‘Shoot, Throw and Go’ because many of our customers shoot a gun, throw a fishing lure or just enjoy the outdoors,” said Clark. “The lucky winner of this random drawing will be able to stock up on their favorite sporting goods just in time for Christmas. The winner of this contest will be notified within the first week of December.”
Clark went on to say, “We have tremendous opportunities for hunting and fishing in the state with over 1.5 million acres of public land in Kentucky where people can go to hunt, view wildlife or fish. We also have a lot of fishing access sites.”
Information about all these public opportunities are available on their web site at fw.ky.gov.
