Ralph Dewey Owens, 81, of Corbin, KY; formally of Cumberland passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin following a brief illness. He was a native of Lynch, KY; a retired machinist from US Steel and Arch of KY; a Korean War veteran, and a member of VFW post 5171.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents the late Dewey and Opal Hogg Owens, and three sons; Ralph JR, Timothy, and Brian Owens.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Helton Owens, his children Jennifer Trent and husband Taylor, of New Tazewell, TN, Sheila Maggard and husband Everett, of Louisville, KY; Greg Owens and wife Melissa Owens, of Cumberland, KY; and Michelle Lewis and husband Leon, of Cumberland, KY; and one sister Helen Joyce Manis, of Florida; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 1 -2 pm with a memorial service to follow at 2 pm, with Jonathan Monhollen officiating.
