Wanette Davis, age 84, of Cumberland, KY passed into eternal life on Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Louisville, KY. She was born June 21, 1928 in Harlan County, KY to the late Robert Lee Irvin and Maccie Barker Irvin. Wanette was a devoted member of the Cumberland Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Davis, Sr.; daughter, Linda Cornett; and sister, Iretha McCurry.

She is survived by her children, Glenn Davis and Brenda of Fort Wayne, IN, Stanley Davis and Martha of Cumberland, KY, Leonard Davis, Jr. and Libby of Louisville, KY; brother, Ray Irvin, of West Virginia; sisters, Geneva Jones of Cumberland, KY, Faye Blevins of Cincinnati, OH, and Bernice Smith of Fort Wayne, IN; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, and 2 step great-great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Cumberland Pentecostal Church in Cumberland, KY on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, between 6 – 9 pm and Thursday, March 21, 2013, between 11 am – 1 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the church with Reverends Michael and Barbara Blair officiating. Interment will follow in the DL Creech Cemetery in Blair, KY.
