Lloyd Corbet Polson Sr. 84, of Cumberland Passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his home following a brief illness.

He was a native of Harlan County, a retired coal miner having worked for US Steel/Arch of Ky and Benham coal; a member of the Cumberland Church of God, and a former US Marine.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, the late William Corbet and Elizabeth Dotson Polson, two brothers George Polson, and Lee Polson, and a sister Juanita Palmer.

Survivors include his wife Georgia Funk Polson, of Cumberland, four children Lloyd Corbet Polson Jr. and wife Joyce of Nolansburg, Ky; Mary Ann Parrott and husband Jimmy of Blair, Ky; Michael Wayne Polson and wife Uncha of Olympia Wa; and Tammy Lloyd and husband Michael of Leesburg, Fl; one brother Ralph Polson and wife Alice of Cumberland; nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Cumberland Church of God at 2 pm with the Rev. Ronnie Doyle officiating. Burial will follow at the Benham Cemetery with Charles Eldridge, James Parrott, Chad Lloyd, Kyle Lloyd, Ralph Polson Jr, Jeff Polson and Rick Wilder serving as pallbearers.
