Garnett F. Howard 72, of Dayhoit, Ky. Passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at his residence. He was born October 29, 1939 in Harlan Co. Ky. Garnett was a retired repairman from the coal industry. He attended the Four Mile Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Gaut & Elsie Howard. Two children; William Terry Howard & David Wayne Howard. One brother Terry Howard. Niece; Mary Beth Howard and a nephew, Wesley Howard.

Survivors include his wife; Ruth Williams Howard of Dayhoit, Ky. One son; Garnett Lee Howard & wife Mary of Dayhoit, Ky. Two grandchildren; Brandon Lee Howard & William Kevin Howard. Four great grandchildren; Gunner Bryce Howard, Jacelyn Keyarah Howard, Brayden Gage Howard & Bentley Reed Howard. One brother; Orbin Lee Howard & wife Joan of Knoxville, TN. Special sisters-in-laws; Debbie Williams of Dayhoit, Ky. & Linda Howard of London, Ky. And several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Edmond Gross & Brother Otis Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the White Star Cemetery of Dayhoit, Ky. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 from 6-9 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
