Octavia Scopa, 90, of Lynch, KY; Passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at her home following a long illness. She was a native of Lynch, a homemaker and believed in the Protestant faith.

She is preceded in death by her first husband the late James A. Cooper, and second husband the late Frank Scopa; her parents Abner Howard, and Bertha Sanders James; a grandson Jimmy Allen Cooper; two brothers, Cecil Howard and Ernest James; three sisters, Elsie Pennington, Dorothy Boggs, and Carolyn Helton.

She is survived by her son Jimmy Cooper, of Lynch, brother David James, of North Carolina, Naomi Winsted and husband Bobby, of Cumberland, Monty Faye Rice, of MI; and Jessie James, of Sandusky, OH; and a special friend Rettie Morris, of Cumberland, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in the chapel of Tri City Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Colinger officiating. Following the funeral services burial will be held in the Huff Cemetery in Cumberland. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
