Kennon Napier fired in 16 points to lead the Wildcats.
The teams return to action Saturday in a rematch in the Mike Burke Memorial Tournament.

Tigers knock off Evarts
Trent McKenzie fired in 18 points to lift Black Mountaon (2-0) to a 52-23 victory at Evarts in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action on Thursday.
Ethan Baird’s 11 points led the Wildcats.
In previously unreported action, Black Mountain knocked off Harlan County Christian 64-48 on Tuesday.
McKenzie had 34 points to pace the Tigers.
Daniel Miracle led Harlan County Christian with 21 points.
Jarrett McKenzie had 16 points to lift Black Mountain to a 40-29 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade contest.
Cade Barnes recorded 14 points to lead Harlan County Christian.
Black Mountain will host Cawood on Monday, while Evarts will travel to Wallins on Thursday.

Dragons open season with win
Noah Busroe and Cameron Carmical each scored 21 points as Harlan opened its season Thursday with a 51-50 win at Barbourville in seventh- and eighth-grade basketball action.
Gray and Deaton each scored 11 and Warren added 10 to lead the TIgers.
Barbourville won 42-31 in the seventh-grade game led by 19 points from Carton.
Kilian Ledford paced the Dragons with seven points.
Helton scored 19 as Barbourville coasted to a 46-20 win in the fifth- and sixth-grade game.
Patrick Bynum led Harlan with 10 points.

Burke Tournament set
The 12th Annual Mike Burke Memorial Tournament is set for Saturday at Cawood Elementary. The tournament in named in honor of the school’s former principal, who died in 2001. All proceeds will benefit the Mike Burke Memorial Scholarship Fund. The tournament schedule includes: Fifth- and sixth-grade — James A. Cawood vs Cawood at 10 a.m.; Rosspoint vs Wallins at 11:15 p.m.; consolation game at 12:30 p.m.; championship at 1:45 p.m.; Seventh- and eighth-grade — James A. Cawood vs Cawood at 3 p.m.; Rosspoint vs Wallins at 4:15 p.m.; consolation game at 5:30 p.m.; championship at 6:45 p.m.
