Maxine Burton Kelly, 82, of Evarts, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard. She was born August 27, 1930 in Red Bud, KY and had lived here all of her life. She was the former co-owner of Coal City Supply in Harlan and a member of the Evarts Baptist Church.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell W. Kelly; her parents, Eva Hamby Burton and Bill Burton; four brothers, Harold, Doug, Jim and Raymond Burton; two sisters, Gladys Madison and Evelyn Burton; and one granddaughter, Amy Short.

Survivors include six children, Larry Kelly and wife, Angela, Ages; Roger Kelly and wife, Jena, Evarts; Kenneth Kelly and wife, Sharon, Evarts; Debra Mould, Oak Ridge, TN; Randy Kelly and wife, Diane, Verda; and Kimberly Evans and husband, Robert, Evarts; two brothers, Clyde Burton, Florida; Sigal Burton, Gary, IN; two sisters, Jenny Bryant, Portage, IN; and Norma Blevins, Springfield, TN; 13 grandchildren, Chris Kelly, Orlando, FL; Amber Ward, Verda; Erin Kelly, Evarts; Andy Short, Harlan; Joshua Bowman, Jade Bowman, Dani Mould, Abby Mould, Shawn Mould, all of Oak Ridge, TN; Brandy Fuson, Heather Eldridge, both of Verda; Kaitlin Evans and Emily Evans, both of Evarts; also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren, Ilea Kelly, Dalton Ward, Jaylyn Coots, Trentyn Kelly, Lacey Short, Greyson Short, Christopher Fuson, Jacob Fuson, Whitney Eldridge and Jared Eldridge; a special friend, Donna Campbell, Evarts and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 5 until 8 PM in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 2 PM at the Evarts Baptist Church with the Reverend Roy Faulkner and Reverend Danny McCreary officiating.

Burial will follow the Services in the Resthaven Cemetery, Keith, KY.

Pallbearers will be Andy Short, Joshua Bowman, Chris Kelly, Larry Fuson, Jacob Fuson Michael Eldridge and Chris Fuson.

In lieu of flowers Maxine’s family has asked that donations be made to the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove Hazard, KY 41701.
