Buchanan, Ruth Kiser Fraley – age 95 of Benham, KY passed away December 19, 2012 at NHC Oak Ridge in Oak Ridge, TN. She was born July 15, 1917 in Dungannon, VA. She was a member of Benham United Methodist Church and was active in the church until her illness.

Ruth was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Maggie Fraley of Dungannon, VA; husband, Ora E. (Buck) Buchanan of Benham, KY; brothers, Kermit and John Fraley of Dungannon, VA.

Survivors include daughters, Ellen Napier of Knoxville, TN, Bette Jane (Bill) Brown of Sarasota, FL; son, Gene (Carolyn) Buchanan of Kingsport, TN; sister, Helen Fraley Sandidge of Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Lisa (Peter) Paine of Florence, AL, Stephanie (Scott) Zimmerman of Kingsport, TN, Jason (Marcy) Buchanan of Jonesboro, TN, Holly (Michael) Hendrix of Orlando, FL, Hillery (Greg) Lee of Boston, MA; 7 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Zachery, Alex, Emma, Brooks, Michaela, Austin; 3 nieces, Carol Laferty of Clearfield, KY, Jane Ann Sandidge and Cathy Sandidge of Gate City, VA; grandnieces and nephews, Mark, Matthew, Donnie, Neal, Debbie, Clark, Sarah and many loving friends.

The family will receive friends at the Benham United Methodist Church on Sunday, December 23, 2012, between 12 – 2 pm. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm at the church with the Reverend Jody VanSickle officiating. Interment will be in the Benham Cemetery in Benham, KY.
