The new season of Justified begins with a cold case, which is over 30 years old, beginning to unravel and Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) finding a riddle that echoes all the way back to his childhood and his criminal father’s, Arlo Givens portrayed by Raymond J. Barry, bad dealings. In season four, you’ll also find Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins) finding his grip on Harlan loosening due to a Pentecostal preacher with a penchant for theatrics and a knack for manipulation to rival Crowder’s.

Premiering on Jan. 8, season four of Justified may be seen on the FX channel at 10 p.m.

According to a report from TV Guide, this season Raylan will be spending quite a bit more time with the bartender Lindsey Salazar (Jenn Lyon) following the exit of Winona. There is also a massive twist as Lindsey is keeping a secret from Raylan, and it is something that could prove to be rather stunning if he ever finds out.

Other secrets in season four include Boyd Crowder having a major one of his own come to surface early in the season. He has a secret stash of money and absolutely no one else, including Ava Crowder (Joelle Carter) knows about it.

Episode one of the new season “Hole in the Wall” has Raylan running down a vicious fugitive and finding evidence his family is at the center of a legendary unsolved mystery. The premiere episode is written by Graham Yost and directed by Michael Dinner. Season four will provide 13 episodes of exciting adventures and many secrets coming to surface.

The show is set in eastern Kentucky, and has a backwoods feel to it, a false purity. Underneath every nook and cranny lies evil. Lawlessness prevails where you least expect it. Drug dealers and murderers sleep with their eyes open while U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens is on the prowl.

The series, while fictional, brings a belief that a man of the law, Raylan, wants to protect and serve his country with honor. Receiving widespread critical acclaim, particularly for its acting, directing, art direction and writing, Olphant has been recognized for his lead performances.

The series was developed by Graham Yost and is based on Elmore Leonard’s novels Pronto and Riding the Rap and his short story “Fire in the Hole.”
