Ronnie S. King, 59, of Evarts, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home. Born January 25, 1954, he had lived in Harlan County all of his life. Ronnie was a former mayor and council member of the City of Evarts. He was the rental manager at Eastbrook as well as the owner of other rental property. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at LMU and was a Kentucky Colonel. Ronnie loved helping people, especially the elderly. He honored and cherished his mother.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hobert King; two sisters, Mildred Johnson and Carla Sue Bowman; and two brothers, George Hobert King and Olen Lee King.

Survivors include his mother, Jonie Ellen Middleton King; five sisters, Rosa Lee Davis, Jerri Mulkey, Kimberly J. Farley and husband, Eugene, Diana King and Karen Crusenberry and husband, Tom; three brothers, Bill King and wife, Geraldine, Jerome King and Denny Ray King and wife, Versie Kay, all of Evarts. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and his two dogs whom he loved dearly, Gizmoe and Bella.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 8 pm at the Evarts Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 22, 2013, at 1 pm in the Chapel of the Evarts Funeral Home with the Reverend James Middleton officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens. His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
