Harlan Musettes member and president Lauren Hogue participated in the 2013 KMEA SSAA All-State Choir.

Hogue, a senior, is the daughter of Chris and Dana Hogue.

The director of the SSAA Chorus was Eva Floyd. Dr. Floyd received an undergraduate degree from Campbellsville University and graduate degrees from the University of Kentucky. She is assistant professor of choral music education at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In addition to teaching at CCM, Floyd serves on the artistic staff of the Cincinnati Children’s Choir as conductor for the Cincinnati Girl Choir, an advanced chamber ensemble for freshmen-senior girls.

Jordan Turner, a member of the Harlan Boys Choir, participated in the TTBB Chorus. A sophomore, he is the son of Susan and Denver Turner. The conductor of the TTBB Chorus was Jeffery L. Ames, who serves as director of choral activities at Belmont University.

Ames’ prior appointments include Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Baylor University and Choral Director at Edgewater High School and Lincoln High School in Florida. He is also an accomplished accompanist and has performed and collaborated with well-known conductors such as Andre Thomas and Anton Armstrong.

Marybeth Christman and Marilyn Schraeder are the choral directors at Harlan Independent Schools.
