Preceding her in death was her faithful husband, Levi, her sisters, Beulah Kegley and Maude Tippett, her brothers, Elmer Fox, Claude Fox, and Ronnie Fox.
Surviving relatives include her son, Roy, of Dalton, Georgia, her daughter, Betty, of Verda, Kentucky, a beloved niece, Brenda Kegley, of Verda, Kentucky, her brother and his wife and family, Frank and Carol Fox of Orlando, Florida, and two sisters-in-law, Jonia and Dora Hensley of Gray, Kentucky.
Also surviving are special nieces, nephews, friends, and church family, whom she loved dearly.
Thelma was a proud member of the Verda First Baptist Church, where she was the oldest female member of the church. Having been saved and baptized at the age of 12, Thelma also had the distinction of being the member with the longest, active, continuous membership. Thelma loved singing in the church choir, where her Alto voice rang out loud and sweet. One of her greatest joys in life was being outside, working with her flowers.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 16th at Evarts Funeral Home from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Verda First Baptist Church on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at 2:00PM. Officiating will be Rev. Danny McCreary and Rev. Delbert Jones, Jr., both of whom she loved dearly.
Burial will follow at the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tommy Webb, Chester Clem, Scott McCreary, Eddie Jones, Doug Johnson, Jerry Pittman, and Chad Brock. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews.
