Charlene Kitts, age 90, departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Healthcare. Born in Virginia on October 31, 1922, Char made her home in Harlan County for most of her 90 years of life. She was a long time employee of the Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital where she worked as an x-ray technician. Char loved and enjoyed people, animals and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ruth Kitts

She is survived by a host of friends who loved her; and by her two faithful companions, Buffy and Jobie.

In respecting Charlene’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service held. Friends may honor her memory, by making a donation to an animal shelter or the ASPCA.
