Volleyball open house slated

The Harlan County High School volleyball team open gym will begin April 8, at 3 p.m. at the high school. Any girl currently in grades 8-11 are eligible to participatel. Knee pads, tennis shoes, and appropriate attire are required for open gym. Tryouts will be held at a later date.

HCHS Dance team meeting, tryouts set
Girls currently in grades 8-11 who are interested in becoming a member of the Harlan County High School Dance Team should attend a meeting on April 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the Harlan County High School cafeteria. All girls interested and a parent must attend in order to participate in tryouts. The dance team tryout clinics will be held on April 16 and April 17,from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the HCHS cafeteria.

Black Bears to host youth clinic
The Harlan County High School Black Bear Baseball Camp for youth ages seven and up will be held on April 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the HCHS baseball stadium.
The cost of the camp is $40. Additional participants from the same family may attend for $30.
Participants will learn the basic fundamentals giving them the opportunity for success in their budding baseball careers. The highly experienced HCHS coaching staff will offer a hands-on approach in dealing with the campers, helping them to appreciate the game of baseball to its fullest. At the camp, every individual will receive as much attention as required to enhance the experience.
The camp will offer instruction for hitting and all defensive positions.
The camp staff will teach the basic individual fundamentals and emphasize individual techniques in order to develop better overall players and those that fit within the team concept.
Registration will be accepted until the day of the camp.

Health insurance policy number, emergency contact phone numbers and a list of known allergies are needed when registering, along with name, address, phone, email, grade, position, height and weight and T-shirt size. Campers will receive a T-shirt.
Campers need to be properly equipped with gloves, mitts, catching gear, and other items.
Area Little League coaches are encouraged to attend and observe the camp. Coaches will learn the proper teaching techniques and fundamental development drills for youth baseball.
