Troy C. Creech, age 83, of Cumberland departed this life on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Tri Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Cumberland on November 20, 1928 to the Late Caleb and Martha Jane House Creech. Troy spent 31 years working in the coal mines and retired from US Steel. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a 50 plus year member of the Fields #832 Masonic Lodge. He believed in the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his six brothers, Clyde Creech, Art Creech, Claude Creech, Glen Creech, Freddie Creech, and Bruce Creech; and two sisters, Daisy Duncan and Elsie Standridge.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Doris Disney Creech; two children, Troy Caleb Creech and Bonnie of Benham and Victoria Middleton of Sellersburg, IN; one brother, Jack Creech and Frieda of Cumberland; one sister, Hazel Hammond and Ted of Corbin; three grandchildren, Ryan Creech and Ashley of Benham, Jessica Creech of Benham and fiancé Robert Welch of Harlan, Shannon Prince and Lawrence of Louisville; three great grandchildren, Morgan, Jacob and Emma Prince of Louisville; and a host of family and friends who loved and knew him.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home on Saturday, May 26, 2012, between 6 – 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 27, 2012, in the chapel at 2 pm with the Reverend Rod Raleigh, Bill Maggard, Glen Cornett and Reverend Dennis Williams officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Huff Cemetery at Cumberland.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers for the services.
