Allene Janet McCreary, 84, of Evarts, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2012, at the Harlan App. Regional Hospital. Born October 16, 1927, she was a native and lifelong resident of Evarts. She was a homemaker and a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

Allene was preceded in death by her husband, Seaborn McCreary; her parents, Brooks Frazier, Sr. and Rosa Brackett Frazier; two sisters, Julia Leitch and Lois Peak; three brothers, Brooks Frazier, Jr., Addie Frazier, George Frazier; and an infant brother, John Milton Frazier.

Survivors include two sons, Pastor Danny McCreary and wife, Lira, Verda; Roger McCreary and wife, Merry, Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Mary Linda Jones, Evarts; four grandchildren, Kristie Mackowiak and husband, Ross; Scotty McCreary and wife, Stacey; Keith Jones and wife, Crystal; and Bridgett Jones and husband, Eddie. Also surviving are seven great-grand-children. Cherish Grace Madden, Jonathan and Jackson Mackowiak, Landon and Chloe McCreary, and Madison and Macy Jones; two special cousins, Pansy Luttrell and Jane Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Verda First Baptist Church Sunday from 5 until 8 pm and Monday after 12 noon.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 6, 2012, at 2 pm at the Verda First Baptist Church with the Reverend Joe Combs and Pastor Danny McCreary officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evarts Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott McCreary, Keith and Eddie Jones, Ross and Jonathan Mackowiak, Tommy Webb, Butch and Fred McCreary, and Tom Frazier.
