Helen Nix Roark, 82 of Pineville passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at the Harlan Nursing Home following a long illness. Helen was born at Liggett, KY in Harlan County on June 4, 1930, a daughter of the late Thurman and Lena Grace Nix. She was a longtime resident of Bell County, was a loving wife and mother, a faithful member of the Wasioto Baptist Church and servant of her lord Jesus Christ. She had worked in food service at Howard’s Drive In for many years. Helen’s humble, sweet kindness will be missed by all those who had the privilege to have gotten to know her, she was a beautiful Christian lady in every sense.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Roark; son, Gary Roark; sister, Virgie Pennington; and brothers, Louis Nix and Walter Nix.

She is survived by her children, Larry Roark of Tazewell, TN, Pat Barton of Laurenceville, GA and Cheryl Ramey of Mt. Vernon, OH; sisters, Lucille Hensley of Wallins, KY and Juanita Parsons of Richmond, KY; brother, Adrian Nix of Mt. Sterling, KY and a great score of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 8:00 PM Monday at the Wasioto Baptist Church with Rev. Robey Walters and Rev. Freeman Clark. Burial will be in the Pinelawn Memorial Gardens, Pineville with members of the Wasioto Baptist Church serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the Wasioto Baptist Church.
