Dorothy J. (Dot) Disney, age 62 of Cumberland, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Central Baptist Hospital in Corbin, KY after an extended illness. Dot was an active member of the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church, Poor Fork Arts & Crafts, Harlan County Homemakers and Relay for Life. She worked as a hair dresser for 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty Roark Jarvis; brother, Gary Jarvis, and mother-in-law, Deloris Disney.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, David Disney of Cumberland; daughter, Wendy and husband, Gary, Cornett of Hudson, NC; ;son Jamie and wife, Jennifer, Disney of Lebanon, TN; four grandchildren, Alyssa and Wesley Cornett, Shelby and Grayson Disney; and a host of family and friends who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Cumberland Missionary Baptist Church in Cumberland between 6 – 8 pm and on Friday, October 19, 2012, between 12 – 1 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday, October 19, 2012, at the church with the Reverend Dennis Williams and Reverend Ronnie Hampton officiating. Interment will follow in the Charlie Maggard Cemetery in Cumberland with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Poor Fork Arts & Crafts, 218 West Main Street, Cumberland, KY, 40823, in memory of Dot.
