Leslie R. Hale, 57 of Harlan passed away Tuesday Oct. 16, 2012 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Leslie was born Oct. 8, 1955, in Harlan, KY, to the late John and Myrtle Copeland Hale; she was retired from the Harlan Daily Enterprise. A member of the First Baptist Church of Harlan, she had been attending Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, helping family and the elderly in the community with different needs or taking them places; her ministry was weekly in visits to the Harlan Health & Rehabilitation Center to minister to the patients.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by grandparents, Virgil and Minerva Copeland; her aunts, Birdie Fields and Sarah Harris.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, David Hale of Lexington; brothers, Michael (Beverly) Hale of Lexington, John Anthony Hale of Harlan; sisters, Deborah Hale and her twin sister, Jo Ellen Hale both of Harlan; grandchildren, Justus Elynne Hale, Jonathan and Tamara Farris all of Lexington; uncle, Virgil Copeland of Harlan; best friend, Tolbert Ronnie Walker of Harlan; nephew, Jonathan Hale of Lexington; she leaves aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

In keeping with her wishes, Leslie was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Saturday Oct. 20, 2012 at the Mt Olive Baptist Church.
