Beulah I. Howard, of Putney, died Friday, November 2nd, 2012 at the Harlan Health and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born on Tuesday, April 29, 1924 unto the union of the late Henry and Daisy (Lewis) Hensley. A life long resident of Harlan County, Beulah worked 30 years as a clerk for Pennington’s Grocery in Harlan before they closed. Beulah was a member of and attended the Rosspoint Church of Christ. Beulah was 88 years old.

Besides her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Howard and a sister, Ada Hightower.

Beulah is survived by her sons: Harold L. Howard and wife, Sandy of Putney, KY and Larry Howard of London, KY; Two grandchildren: Jeremy Howard and Brittany Howard and one great-grandchild, Taylor Howard.

Visitation for Beulah will be Sunday, November 4th, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Chapel of Rich Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm on Sunday with Harry Coultas and Rev. Billy Howell officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 pm at the Resthaven Cemetery Chapel. Pallbearers will be Bill Ellis, Jim Noe, Jerry Noe, Shawn Hightower, David Hightower, Charles Hightower and Mike Pennington.
