James David Vaughn 72, of Baxter, Ky. Passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 11, 1941 in Jonesville, VA. James was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the U.S. Army and believed in the Church of God faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Willie B. & Violet Jack Vaughn. Brother; Lester Vaughn. Sister; Sherry Louise Vaughn. Ex-Wife; Vera Vaughn.

Survivors include three children; Tammy Vaughn Woje of Dressen, Ky. Bobby Joe Vaughn of Dressen, Ky. & Violet Sherry Louise Vaughn of Baxter, Ky. 3 Grandchildren; Crystal Brummett, Randy Joe Shawn Vaughn & Erin Grace Vaughn. 5 Great grandchildren; Kevin & Jeffery Brummett, Cianna Martinez, Brayden King & Icidra Martinez. 1 Brother; Tony Vaughn of Graysknob, Ky. 8 Sisters; Judy Casteel of Graysknob, Ky. Vanetta Adkins of Harlan, Ky. Gail Shepherd of Graysknob, Ky. Josie Marie Laws of Middlesboro, Ky. Glenda Sue Clark of Lexington, VA. Kay Shepherd of Graysknob, Ky. Kathy Bryant of Graysknob, Ky. & Donna Philpot of Graysknob, Ky. Special nephew; Jerry Vaughn. Ex-Wife; Kathy Caudill of Stanfill, Ky. & Ex-Wife; Pauline Mae Roberts of Baxter, Ky. And several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 1-PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Speakman officiating. Burial will follow at the Graysknob Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Harlan Co. Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 5-8 PM in the chapel of Mount Pleasant Funeral Home.
