Mellie Long Saylor, 93 of Coldiron passed away Sunday Dec. 2, 2012 at the Harlan ARH.

Mrs. Saylor was born Feb. 14, 1919 in Coldiron, KY to the Late George Washington and Jerusha Jane Long. She was a homemaker and member of the Coldiron Church of God Mountain Assembly. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed her family and always met you with the prettiest smile.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Maudie Pillion, Lillie Noe, and Victoria Long; her brothers, Victor, Virgil, Lawrence, Delbert, Billy, and Bobby Long; her children, Betty Sue Saylor, Alma Jean Townsend, Janie Helen Saylor, and Hank O’Neil Saylor.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Zachariah (Sonny) Saylor, Peggy Fisher and husband Donnie, James (Jimmy) Saylor and wife Terry; daughter-in-law, Carol Blanton Saylor; brother, Donald Long and wife Mary Lou; sisters, Reva Russell and Florence Russell; grandchildren, Gloria Traylor, Ryan Townsend and wife Vickie, Hal Townsend and wife Diona, Zac Saylor, Lisa Craig and husband Britt, Kristal Burke, Hank O’Neil Saylor, Amy Vanover and husband Lee, Chris Saylor and wife Anna; great grandchildren, Eric-Lee, Mason, Nicole, Sarah, Brandon, Timothy, and Jonathan Townsend, Jarod Craig, Michaela, Morgan, and Krista Burke, Jillian and Jaxon Saylor; great-great grandson, Jordan Groves; special friend, Betty Brock; she leaves a host of nieces, nephews other relatives to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be 5 – 8:00 pm Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012 at the Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Wednesday Dec. 5, 2012 in the Anderson-Laws & Jones Chapel with Rev. Jack Carmical officiating.

Burial will follow in the Long Cemetery at Happy Top.
