Gladys H. Stanaford of Newnan, Georgia formerly of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Doctors Hospice of Georgia in Fayetteville, Georgia. She was 92 years, 6 months, and 18 days of age. She was born on June 9, 1920 in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late Kay Hinkle and Clara Mae Steel Hinkle. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Francis M. Stanaford; granddaughters, Teresa Jean (Mize) Hood and Linda Lee Stanaford; great grandsons, Christopher Adam Ellis and Matthew Ryan Koehrsen. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky and a former member of the Loyall Baptist Church. She was also the former owner and operator of Loyall Corner Store, the Martin Street Store in Harlan, Kentucky, and the Turners Grocery Store in Harlan, Kentucky. She lived in Lakeland Florida in the winter months and Corbin, Kentucky in the summer. After the death of her husband, Francis she moved to Newman, Georgia to live with her daughter, Margie Bennett.

She is survived by her daughter, Margie Bennett of Newnan, Georgia; one son, Otis Lee Stanaford and his wife Gladys G. Mincey of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Deborah Stanaford Staley and longtime partner James Kucharsky, Sharon Stanaford Fields and husband Robert, Frances Stanaford Koehrsen and husband Erich, Kimberly Beth (Mize) Hose, and Jeri Jane (Mize) Maddox and husband Edward Joseph; thirteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour on Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.

The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chad Fugitt officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Highland Cemetery.
