Freeman Saylor, 88, of Molus, entered in to his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 following an illness. He was born January 18, 1925 at Molus and had lived there most of his life. Freeman was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during WWII where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Freeman supported his family as a coal miner and coal operator for 40 years. He was an owner of the F.&D. Coal Company at Cranks for many years. Freeman was also known for his strong Christian faith and service to God. He was a founding member of the Liberty Pentecostal Church at Molus as well as a Kentucky Colonel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Lee Saylor; his parents, John D. Saylor and Nannie Brock Saylor; a grandson, Benji Blanton; a brother, Daniel Saylor; and two sisters, Lorene Aker and Reba Saylor.

Survivors include six children, Annie V. Saylor, Huntsville, AL; Nannie Adams, of Molus; Nicholas Saylor, of Molus; Noreen Napier and husband Adrian, Middlesboro; Threasa Brigmon and husband Eddie, of Molus; and Deron Saylor, of Molus; two brothers, Delbert Saylor and wife Vickie, of Jesses Creek; Harvey Saylor of Crab Orchard; and two sisters, Helen Howard and husband Paris, of Blackmont; Elva Baker of Wallins.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Heather Cornett, Angie Hoskins, Todd Adams, Sandy Lundy, Jessica Saylor, Derrick Blanton and Imani Napier; seven great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Ruth Brock Saylor, of Cincinnati.

Visitation for Freeman Saylor will be from 6 – 9 pm Monday at Harlan Funeral Home and after 11 am Tuesday at Liberty Pentecostal Church at Molus.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm Tuesday, Jan. 29, at the church with the Reverend Freeman Clark of Molus and the Reverend John Carter of Pineville officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Harlan Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be Deron Saylor, Nick Saylor, Eddie Brigmon, Todd Adams, Derrick Blanton and Adrian Napier.

Honorary Pallbearers are Emory Saylor, Bill Abraham, Ed Hatmaker, Bill Clem, Jimmy Blanton, Talmadge Brock, Paul England, Bobby Ray England, Fred Carmical and Joe Ellis.
