Betty Joy Brock Howard, a longtime resident of Benham, KY, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013, at the St. Joseph Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY at the age of 73 years. She was born in Bonny Blue, VA on December 11, 1939 to Thelma West Brock and the late Arthur Brock. She was a former city clerk and mayor of Benham.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Louisa and Andy Brock, and a sister, Verna Sue Brock.

She leaves to mourn her passing, mother, Thelma West Brock of Benham, KY; daughter, Cindy Tabor Clark, and husband, Jim, of Corbin, KY; brother, Gary Brock, of Stanton, KY; granddaughters, Julie Clark of Lexington, KY and Jamie Clark Oliver and husband, Justin, of London, KY; grandson, Chris Johnson of Charleston, WV; great grandson, Wesley Oliver of London, KY; nephews, Greg Brock of Winterpark, FL and Robbie Brock and wife, Jessica, of Mount Sterling, KY; great niece, Allanah Brock of Mount Sterling, KY; special friend, Wanda Humphrey of Benham, KY; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the chapel of the Tri City Funeral Home in Benham, KY on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, between 6 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at 11 am. Interment will follow in the Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, VA.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
