Z.J. Christian, 89 of Harlan, was born on Saturday, April 28, 1923 in Harlan and died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was retired from Harlan Municipal Water Works and was a charter member of the Kelly Street Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave Christian and Cornelius Knightkirk Christian and his wife, Beulah Christian.

He is survived by: his children, Doug Christian of Harlan, Anna Neil Cannon of Carrolton, KY, Melvin and wife, Nancy Christian of Pineville, W. VA and Danny and wife, Karen Christian of Sheridan, IN. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Visitation will be Monday from 11AM-1PM at the Kelly Street Baptist Church with funeral services at 1PM with Rev. Donnie Adkisson officiating.

Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
